SUPPORT THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

💬 What We Do

At Chapter One, we’re here to make a difference — not just in the moment, but for the long run.

We support children and young people with additional needs through a range of thoughtful, creative, and carefully designed provisions. Whether that’s during term time or the school holidays, in the classroom or out in the community, we tailor everything to the child in front of us.

Every programme is built around real life — what a young person needs today, and what they might need tomorrow.

Our team is passionate about helping children and young people build confidence, form friendships, feel safe, and thrive. That could be through structured learning, short breaks, one-to-one mentoring, or playful activities designed to support independence and emotional wellbeing.

Our current provisions include:

🏫 Day Centre
A vibrant, engaging space for children and young people to enjoy structured short breaks during school holidays. Activities are tailored to each child’s needs, with 1:1 or group support available. This provision focuses on fun, friendship, and building independence through meaningful play.

🌍Community Support
Flexible, community-based support that meets young people where they are — at home, in the community, or accessing activities outside of traditional settings. Whether it’s life skills, social outings, or consistent relationship-building, our Community Support is all about creating positive daily experiences.

📘 Education & Mentoring
A term-time provision that offers alternative education and mentoring to children and young people with EHCPs. Built around trust, guidance, and personalised learning, this programme supports those who may be out of school, awaiting placement, or struggling in mainstream environments.

🌱 Pathways Programme
Our newest offer, created for young people aged 13+ who are ready to begin exploring independence. Focused on areas like managing money, employment, health and wellbeing, relationships, and real-life problem solving, this programme gives young people the tools and confidence to prepare for adulthood.
