Levi is our floating co-ordinator for The Foundation. Levi has lots of experience with working with children with challenging behaviour but always bringing out their full potentials. Levi is emergency first aid, team teach, attention to autism trained and this has enabled her to continue working and supporting the young people.

Pine Class Co-Ordinator
Leylah is our Pine Class Coordinator, and she has been at Chapter One for nearly 2 years. She has been working with children and young people since she left school and continues to love helping our young people. Her favourite thing about her job role is that she can help and watch all young people achieve new milestones.

Emma Browning
Foundation Team Leader
As a Team Leader at our center, Emma brings over 8 years of experience in both education and respite care for children. Her passion lies in enabling young people to thrive and have fun along the way. Emma also values the opportunity to work closely with staff, helping them to grow and develop in their roles. Emma began working for C2I Playscheme and followed the company with the growth of Chapter One, which increased her bonds with our existing families and her levels of expertise to our growing staffing team.

Jamelia Wellington
Maple Class Co-Ordinator
Jamelia has worked at Chapter One since 2021, where she has supported young people in developing their skills and confidence. She also took a short break from this role to gain valuable experience working in a mainstream secondary school, further strengthening her understanding of young people’s diverse needs. She is passionate about working with young people and supporting them to reach their full potential. Outside of work, Jamelia enjoys shopping and watching movies, which help her relax and maintain a healthy work–life balance. She is also currently completing her degree in Sport and Education, working towards becoming a Qualified Teacher.

Kai Potter
Elm Class Co-Ordinator
Kai has worked for Chapter One for 3 years, starting off as a volunteer and eventually moving from a DSW to a Coordinator. He loves being able to make every child smile through activities and interactions, and isn’t afraid of a challenge. Due to looking after his brother that attends Chapter One, Kai is aware of most things SEN and knows what life is like in an autistic child’s household. This has been incredibly helpful for Kai as his expertise, skill set and knowledge has been expanding for 13+ years.

Aaliyah Hunt
Maple Class Co-Ordinator
Aaliyah has been a member of the Chapter One team for 2 years, she currently works across both the short breaks and education teams and has recently taken on the role of co-coordinator for Maple class within the short breaks provision. Aaliyah is passionate about building positive relationships with each child she works with and takes time to understand every child’s individual interests and needs and thoughtfully incorporates these into engaging and meaningful activities. Her child-centred approach ensures that each young person feels valued, supported, and encouraged. She has experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and consistently works closely with her team to implement consistent strategies, promote positive behaviour and achieve the best possible outcomes for our young people.

Abi Carter
Chestnut Class Co-Ordinator
Abi has worked at Chapter One for around 2 years and currently works as the Coordinator for Chestnut Class. She is incredibly passionate about the impact the team has on the families they support and finds it truly rewarding to see the young people grow in confidence, independence, and happiness at every session they attend. Watching their progress, no matter how big or small, is one of the most special parts of her role.
Abi especially loves building meaningful, trusting bonds with the young people she supports and takes pride in being someone they feel safe, valued, and understood around. Knowing she can make even a small positive difference in their lives is what motivates her every day.
Outside of work, Abi enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, who mean the world to her and keep her grounded and inspired.

Bailey Danter
Oak Class Co-Ordinator
Bailey has been working at Chapter One since opening in 2022 and was promoted to a Coordinator in December 2023; she is now our coordinator for Oak Class. Bailey has always enjoyed working alongside the children and young people. Bailey’s favourite activities to do with the children are baking, as this encourages lots of different skills. For example, life skills, mixing skills, motor skills etc.
Another favourite is - going out in the community and seeing the young people learn new life skills! Bailey will be working with the young people to develop their life skills in the community and preparing them for adult hood. Bailey loves to see all the smiles on the young people and staff’s face. In Bailey’s free time she likes to watch films and hang out with her friends.

Abby Pearce
Business Support Manager
Abby is our dedicated Business Support Manager with years of experience supporting Chapter One and our children, young people and families. Abby has worked alongside children for 6+ years, starting as a Level 4 Teaching Assistant in a mainstream Primary school, prioritising her time as a 1:1 for SEN children in her classes. This ignited the spark within Abby that supporting SEN children and families is what she wants to do as a career, and has grown in this ever since. Before stepping into this role, Abby worked directly with our CYP at Chapter One as a Disability Support Worker, which gave her a deep understanding of their needs and the importance of building our well-coordinated support systems. Abby was then promoted into our Team Leader and gained her step into our Management Team. It was recognised that Abby had advanced skills and expertise in the Business admin work, so she now focuses solely on Chapter One's admin, business needs, paperwork and correct documentation, which is a vital aspect of our companies day-to-day running. Abby holds an NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management and is one of our qualified Team Teach Trainers; she is also trained in Emergency First Aid, Safeguarding and more. Abby's training also includes modules around mental health, equality, diversity and inclusion, trauma, personal care and many more.

Cherice Phillips
Foundation Team Manager
Cherice Phillips has dedicated her career to supporting SEN young people, starting with volunteering at schools from the age of 16. Then climbing her way up the Chapter One ladder from a Disability Support Worker, Team Leader then to Team Manager. Being a Team Manager is something Cherice is very proud of as she is responsible for leading and inspiring all Chapter One staff to provide the best person-centred care to our young people. The young people hold a special place in her heart, driving her passion for providing the best care and support possible. With an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, alongside extensive training in First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support, safeguarding and PEG feeds, Cherice is well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of those she supports. She believes that supporting SEN children is not just a job, but a deeply important mission. As she is passionate about being responsible for ensuring SEN children get the best out of life, believing that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Known for her uncanny ability to connect with young people, Cherice was once humorously nominated as the "child whisperer" by her colleagues.

Kacey Smythe
Education Team Manager
Kacey is a dedicated and compassionate Team Manager at Chapter One and Connections 2 Independence, where she has been making a significant impact since April 2022. With over six years of experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, Kacey brings both empathy and expertise to her leadership role. Kacey started with Chapter One as a Disability Support Worker, leading to a Team Leader promotion, to now Team Manager for Chapter One Day Centre and Connections 2 Independence's Education and Mentoring provision; this further indicates Kacey's expertise levels, including her commitment and dedication towards the companies. Kacey's background in Health and Social Care is underpinned by a Level 4 qualification, demonstrating a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the sector. Kacey's professional toolkit includes a wide range of essential certifications such as Safeguarding, Moving and Handling, Medication Administration, PEG Feeding, Team Teach, and First Aid. These qualifications equip her to provide safe, person-centred care and to lead her team effectively in high-pressure environments. Kacey is known for her calm leadership style, her ability to build trust with both young people and staff, and her commitment to delivering high standards of care and support.

Kelsey-Jai Fowke
Community Team Manager
Kelsey-Jai is our Community Support Team Manager with years of experience supporting Chapter One and our children, young people and families. Kelsey has worked alongside children and SEN adults for 8+ years, starting as a support worker for vulnerable and adults with additional needs. This ignited the spark for Kelsey that supporting people with additional needs, no matter their age or abilities, is what she wants to do. Before stepping into her current role, Kelsey worked directly with our CYP at Connections 2 Independence's playscheme which moved into Chapter One as a Disability Support Worker. Kelsey then became our Team Leader and gained her step into our Management Team. Kelsey's main expertise are with supporting our young people, building close bonds with families, and communicating with professionals. Kelsey holds an NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management; she is also trained in Emergency First Aid, Safeguarding and much more. Kelsey has also gained additional experience within a Residential home, an adult day-care centre, and in supported living. Kelsey's favourite part of her job is enabling our young people to access the community, positively and productively, supporting with steps to their independence and gaining needed additional life skills; she has gained excellent feedback from families and professionals with her excellent skillset and knowledge, and is excited for the growth of our community support provision!
