📍 Based at:
The Foundation, Eastbrook Road, Gloucester.
🕒 Hours:
This is a casual worker agreement, which means:

No minimum or guaranteed hours

Flexibility to choose shifts that work around your life

Opportunities to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends
💰 Salary:
£11.50 – £14.00 per hour
Dependent on experience and contract type.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll support children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them access play, learning, life skills, and social opportunities, in a way that suits them.
This includes:

Providing 1:1, 2:1, or small group support
-
Planning and delivering engaging activities like crafts, sensory play, baking, sports, and life skills
-
Encouraging communication, confidence, and social interaction
-
Supporting personal care and routines while promoting dignity and independence
-
Working closely with families and professionals to meet each child’s goals
-
Keeping clear records of sessions, progress, and feedback
-
Attending training to build your skills and confidence

🧩 Key Responsibilities
As a Young Person’s Mentor, you’ll support children and young people with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), helping them build confidence, life skills, and educational outcomes through 1:1 mentoring and structured learning.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one mentoring support tailored to individual needs
-
Developing personalised plans with each young person, based on their interests, goals, and EHCP outcomes
-
Planning and delivering purposeful sessions that promote emotional wellbeing, life skills, independence, and education
-
Working with our in-house teacher and Higher Level Learning Partners to align learning with curriculum standards
-
Supporting community safety and practical skills, such as travel, budgeting, and cooking
-
Collaborating with parents, carers, and professionals to provide holistic support
-
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records and reports
-
Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all participants

🧩 Key Responsibilities
As a Higher Level Learning Partner (HLLP), you’ll take a lead role in supporting children and young people with additional needs through purposeful, engaging education and mentoring.
This includes:

Delivering tailored lessons and learning activities set by our Learning and Development Manager

Taking ownership of a classroom space — keeping it safe, well-organised, and inspiring
-
Planning, preparing, and running sessions suited to each child’s goals and EHCP outcomes
-
Supporting and guiding other staff members to deliver high-quality education
-
Building strong relationships with young people, families, and professionals
-
Tracking individual progress and contributing to key reports
-
Decorating, organising, and personalising your classroom to support your key children’s development
This is a creative, hands-on role with real responsibility — perfect for someone who wants to step up and make an impact.
👀 Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:

Has a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification (this is essential)

Has at least 2 years’ experience working with children or young people

Understands how to support children with a range of additional needs

Can confidently lead a classroom and support others to deliver excellent sessions
-
Is positive, organised, and creative in their approach
-
Communicates well with families, staff, and other professionals
-
Can plan, adapt, and problem-solve as part of a wider education and mentoring team
A driving licence is desirable but not essential.
