EDUCATION & MENTORING

Education is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to providing enriching educational experiences for children and young people with disabilities, tailored to their unique needs and abilities.
Our Education and Mentoring program offers personalized guidance and support to empower children and young people with disabilities. Together, we can inspire and nurture their potential, helping them thrive in all aspects of life.
We work closely with Local Authorities, SEN Schools and Alternative Provision Schools.
The aim for our children and young people is for a smooth transition back into school settings by building positive relationships with our mentors, gaining trust and resilience. These packages are based on a 1:1 level. However, when relationships have become sustainable, we encourage more of a group approach to allow our children and young people to build self-esteem, friendships, and preparation back into a classroom setting.
The individualised tailored programmes could include:
Advice
Education
Guidance
Health
Life and Practical Skills
Key contacts of the children and young people are given regular detailed reports, highlighting their aims, goals, and updates along their progression timeline. This way we seek to develop and challenge a mentoring programme that keeps the children and young people’s best interests at the very centre of what we offer. We attend any Team Around The School or Team Around The Family Meetings to gather feedback on the support being provided by us.
Each child and young person work through a tailored independence programme that they create with the support of their allocated mentor. This is specific to the child and young person’s needs. Our outcomes-based approach helps children and young people to define and achieve their personal aspirations through meaningful, reflective conversation and through expert support. This includes asking open ended questions, affirming children and young people’s successes and strengths, and summarising in an empowering way.
The age ranges of these are 5-18 years old. Most of the learners we support, have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) in place some also have a My Plan. We employ a fully qualified teacher, who is our Learning and Development Manager. Our Learning and Development Manager assists and supports our children, young people, and mentors with delivering tuition, benchmarking them within the education system, marking work, setting appropriate work to their curriculum level and their current working level as well as fulfilling the outcomes from the EHCP and driving our educational standards.
The aim of this is to help and support our children and young people to progress in mainstream education.
This provision is based in Gloucester and is Term Time Only.
