ABOUT CHAPTER ONE
Chapter One was founded in November 2021 by a team with both personal and professional experience in social care.
We’ve walked this journey ourselves and that’s exactly why we’re so passionate about making a difference.
We’re here to provide a supportive, safe, and joyful environment for children and young people with disabilities.
Every child deserves a space where they can feel valued, included, and free to be themselves.
Our services include:
🌟 Day Provisions
🏡 Community and Home Support
🎓 Education
🤝 Mentoring
We also recognise how important it is to support the whole family. By creating a fun, engaging space for young people, we offer parents and carers the chance to take a much-needed short break, knowing their child is safe, happy, and cared for.
Our team is driven by heart, experience, and a real belief in what’s possible when care and community come together.
Chapter One is a Community Interest Company, which means we exist to serve the community, not private shareholders.
Everything we do is rooted in one purpose: delivering the highest quality care and support we can.
💬 A Message from the Directors
"This isn’t just work for us - it’s something we live and breathe every day.
We started Chapter One because we knew more could be done for children and young people with disabilities,
and we wanted to be part of that change.
The laughter, the progress, the little wins, that’s what keeps us going.
We’re proud of what we’ve built so far, and we’re even more excited about what’s still to come."
Paige, Lichelle & Keatz
Directors, Chapter One 💙💚

Paige Stokes
Paige holds an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and is also a Director of our sister company, Connections 2 Independence.
She currently leads our Community Support, Education, and Mentoring provision, drawing on over 12 years of experience within the social care sector. Her work is shaped by both personal and professional experience, and she is deeply committed to creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive.
Paige’s qualifications include Team Teach, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Children and Young People, and Emergency First Aid. She has also completed extensive training in areas such as substance misuse, mental health, safeguarding, equality and diversity, personal care, and housing support.
She has worked with young people aged 5 to 18+, both as a mentor and manager, helping them build a strong sense of identity and learn to understand and manage their emotions. Her work has supported many young people to re-engage with education, achieve personal goals, and gain recognition through ASDAN programmes. She has also played a key role in helping families feel more supported during challenging times.
Outside of her formal role, Paige continues to support children and young people with additional needs in her own time. She is regularly praised for going above and beyond, and is known for the compassion and energy she brings to every part of her work.

Keaton Pearce
Keaton holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.
He is a confident, empathetic, and passionate individual who brings a wide range of experience working with vulnerable young people. Keaton founded Connections 2 Independence with the goal of using his knowledge and lived experience to support those who need it most.
His background includes private 1:1 work providing complex personal care, as well as in-depth knowledge of social housing for young care leavers with additional needs. Keaton also spent time working with Gloucester Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS), supporting young victims of domestic abuse through evidence-giving and helping them access the right support.
In addition, Keaton previously worked for Green Square, delivering floating support packages for young adults aged 18 and over who were facing homelessness. These early experiences in the sector motivated him to launch Connections 2 Independence at just 20 years old, driven by a belief that the right kind of support can truly change lives.
Keaton now brings that same energy and vision to everything he does, helping shape services that are grounded in empathy, dignity, and real understanding.

Lichelle Potter
Lichelle is a proud mum to two boys, one who now works at Chapter One, and the other who was the inspiration behind its creation.
After experiencing a breakdown in her son’s school placement, Lichelle crossed paths with the other two Directors, Keaton and Paige. Together, they began the journey to create a specialist provision that could truly meet the needs of SEN families across the county. That journey became Chapter One.
Since helping launch the organisation, Lichelle has grown into her role with confidence, bringing the same nurturing, calm, and determined qualities she carries as a mum into her professional life. She has taken the time to learn the ins and outs of running a business, always observing, asking questions, and building strong working relationships with professionals along the way.
Returning to work has been life-changing for Lichelle. It’s not just that she loves the job, it’s that she genuinely believes in what Chapter One stands for. Being part of something that makes a real difference to families has given her a renewed sense of purpose and pride.
With the lived experience of being a SEN parent, Lichelle brings something incredibly valuable to the team, a deep understanding of what it’s really like to navigate this journey. She continues to learn every day and brings that honesty, empathy, and real-life perspective into everything she does.
